I’m a French immersion teacher based in Toronto, and the founder of French Beyond the Classroom — a program that helps children experience French as something authentic and fun.
Originally from Belgium, I’m a native French speaker who has spent the past several years helping children build confidence and connection through language. Before becoming a full-time teacher, I worked in the entertainment industry and was deeply involved in the arts. That creative background led me to years of work with children through summer camps, musical theatre, tutoring, and in-school workshops — experiences that continue to shape the way I teach today.
For me, language learning starts with relationships. When children feel safe, supported, and seen, they open up — they take risks, make mistakes, and naturally develop their learning through genuine curiosity.
My teaching is built on connection, creativity, and community. Each program blends conversation, art, and play so that French feels less like a subject and more like an experience to share. When kids laugh, collaborate, and express themselves freely, language learning becomes something natural and lasting.
After completing my Master of Teaching at OISE and becoming certified by the Ontario College of Teachers, I wanted to create opportunities for children to learn and live French outside of the classroom — in spaces that feel warm, playful, and authentic.
French Beyond the Classroom was born from that vision: a place where children can use French in real-life, hands-on ways that build both confidence and joy.
